Nisa retailers and suppliers honoured at spectacular gala dinner
A number of Nisa retailers and suppliers were acknowledged for their outstanding retailing efforts over the last year, at Nisa’s annual retail exhibition and gala dinner. On the 10th April, NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire saw 900 guests dazzled with a fabulous Arabian Nights themed awards evening and dinner, which also celebrated 10 years of Nisa’s charity, Making a Difference Locally.
The evening saw Milestone Nisa Extra, Rathfriland presented with the award for Store of the Year (over 3,000 sq. ft.) for the second year running, and Malcolm’s Nisa Local in Coventry took home the 1,500-3,000 sq. ft. award. Also recognised with a Store of the Year award were Nisa Guildford at BP Falcon Garage, who picked up the Under 1,500 sq. ft. accolade. Two Heritage Retailer of the Year awards, which celebrate retailers who actively champion Nisa’s own label, were presented to The Dales Market Corner in Pateley Bridge and Nisa Local St. Catherine’s Hill in Cristchurch, who received the awards for Under 1,500 sq. ft. and Over 1,500 sq. ft. respectively.
In addition, two Making a Difference Locally awards were dedicated to retailers who have made a significant difference to their local community through the charity. Nisa S&K Supermarket in Nuneaton picked up the award for Making a Difference Locally Community Champion, and the MADL Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community Award was presented to Stalbridge retailer Dike and Son. Both MADL award winners were also subsequently awarded £2,500 to donate to local causes through their Making a Difference Locally funds.
Finally, a number of suppliers were acknowledged for their exceptional levels of service to the business, as follows:

• Central Invoicing/Direct to Store Supplier of the Year – Country Choice
• Best Own Label Supplier – Froneri
• Best New Product – Conveni Heritage Pizza
• Best Service/Availability – Heineken UK, On a Roll Sandwich Company (joint winners)
• MADL Best Supplier – Arla Foods
