Nisa colleagues raise over £4,000 for new mental health unit

A week of fundraising activity held at Nisa’s Partner Support Centre in Scunthorpe last week has raised over £4,000 for the Humber Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) appeal.

In support of Mental Health Awareness Week, Nisa held a number of activities – including a bake sale, mega raffle, auction, superhero day and games – to raise much-needed funds for the new mental health in-patient unit, which will support young people in the Humber region.

To celebrate colleagues’ fundraising efforts and to make the donation go even further, Nisa’s charity, Making a Difference Locally, pledged to match the amount raised to donate over £8,000 in total to the appeal.

Nisa colleagues were themselves also supported with a raft of activity and resources designed to promote better mental health and wellbeing, including a Mental Health Toolkit, ‘Resilience and Wellbeing’ workshops, Pilates classes and more, whilst colleagues were also encouraged to volunteer to be Mental Health Awareness Champions for the business.

“It was fantastic to be part of the week-long campaign and the money raised will be put to effective use within the new CAMHS unit to add the extra special touches that will create a homely space for our young people who need specialist care.
