Modernised Morecambe c-store opens after £150,000 re-fit

A fantastic store which boasts a full Nisa convenience offer has officially re-opened in Lancashire following a complete refurbishment.

The Nisa Local in Heysham, Morecambe, has been converted to Nisa’s latest Evolution store format and the bright, modern fascia and new interior signage has been well received by the community.

James Brown, store owner, is delighted with the results of the recent £150,000 renovation and says the store has never looked better.

He said: “The store has been in my family for almost two decades and this is the first time it’s had work of this scale done. Our regular customers have been coming to us for as long as I can remember, and I think the new look of the store has exceeded their expectations.”

The internal signage and counter in the store have been replaced and a brick effect décor added to the walls, along with window graphics and an impressive LED-backlit spirits display.

James said: “One of our daily customers has expressed how she loves the new grey and yellow Nisa fascia – it’s a lot more eye-catching.”

The biggest change for the store has been the changes made to the floorplan as well as the internal signage within the shop itself.

“As a smaller store, I feel that the expansion, which has added 360 sq. ft. to the shop floor, has been one of the biggest changes. Nisa’s format and development team have done a fantastic job at utilising the space and the modern graphics now highlight specific sections of the store, meaning shoppers can easily navigate the aisles to find what they are looking for.”

“The staff and I do our best to look after the store and keep it looking fresh with a regular cleaning schedule. Converting to the latest fascia has given the store a more modern, updated feel and has transported the building into the 21st century, delivering exactly what our customers expect from a local convenience store.”
