Cracking Christmas sales in Warrington

A convenience retailer in Warrington is bucking the national trend with soaring sales this Christmas time.

Mike Sohal who runs Dallam Stores Nisa Local is enjoying the best festive sales in eight years despite many others in the industry seeing sales dip in November.

Seasonal offers on chocolates and treats, deals on alcohol as well as a strong fresh offer are all helping to bolster sales in the 2,000 sq.ft store.

Mike said: “I have focused on getting the best seasonal lines into my store to drive additional sales in the run up to Christmas. We’ve done really well on chocolates and other confectionery.

“Last week was the busiest pre-Christmas week I have had in eight years.”

And sales are on the up generally for the retailer, who moved into his new Store of the Future Evolution shop in February of this year as part of a regeneration project that saw his old store demolished and relocated across the road.

Like for like sales are up around 30 per cent since the move and if Christmas is anything to go by, the future looks bright for Dallam Stores.

Mike said: “We’ve been here for 10 months now and sales continue to grow. Chilled sales are definitely up, and everything is going pretty well.”
