Carry on being convenient for the community of Brown Edge

Residents of the Staffordshire village of Brown Edge near Stoke are soon to be served up a fantastic new Nisa Local store that will offer the very latest in convenience shopping.

Keith’s, a 6,000 sq.ft. outlet, was sold to Nisa partner Amacor Capital in August last year and since then planning has been ongoing to redevelop the store with a raft of improvements, converting into Nisa’s latest Evolution format store and fascia.

Martin Corban, managing director of Amacor, said: “Keith’s is a well-established store that is in the heart of the village and has served Brown Edge for many years.

We want to continue that tradition and ensure Keith’s remains a community store that sells what the people of the village need.

We employ 27 members of staff, all of whom are local and who know the customers, and there is very much a community feel to the business.”

The store has now closed for three weeks to allow the refurbishment to take place with walls to be knocked down and all the current fixtures and fittings ripped out and replaced.

Hot and cold food to go options and a coffee machine will be installed along with a butchery counter, pizza counter, a small delicatessen and a large selection of Co-op own label products will be included in the new product range.

The fresh and chilled food range is set to expand with chiller bays doubling to make the most of the category and a Post Office counter will be incorporated.

Martin said: “We know how important this store is to the local community and it is our intention to make it bigger and better so they can get everything they need here in their village."

During the refurbishment shoppers can still get their groceries from a pop-up shop next door which will be operating until the main store opens on Saturday 23rd November.
