Nisa Local store in Islington undergoes modern transformation

A Nisa Local store, operated by LA Foods, in Islington has undertaken a modern refurbishment, leading to a significant boost in customer footfall.

The Islington store has undergone an entire overhaul of its interior, upgrading from an outdated setup to a refined retail destination, following a significant refurbishment to make the store more spacious.

The store now boasts a more open layout with the first aisle made significantly wider, creating an inviting entrance. Director of Operations for LA Foods Group, Tabrez Hussain, said the upgrades to the entrance of the store contributed to greater customer satisfaction. The store's design is contemporary, featuring Nisa's distinctive dark grey colours and floors with a wood-like finish.

The refurbishment also included the introduction of enhanced refrigeration systems, increasing capacity by 50% with state-of-the-art cabinets that improve product visibility and accessibility.

The reconfigured space allows for an expanded range of products, with a particular emphasis on fresh produce and bakery items, as well as a new Food to Go offering.

The redesigned Food to Go section, along with the new bakery and expanded fresh produce areas, has become a focal point of the store, attracting a diverse customer base, particularly young families and professionals seeking quality and convenience.

Tabrez and his four brothers operate LA Foods Group, taking over from their father who set up the business in the 1990s with a store in Camden. The Hussain family own 13 Nisa stores around London and have just extended a 20-year partnership with Nisa by another five years. They feel that their connection with locals is key.

Following the refurbishment and the grand re-opening, the store has experienced a surge in footfall. Tabrez attributes this success to the innovative store layout and the broadened product range.

Tabrez said: "Our transformation has not only retained our loyal customer base but also attracted new shoppers looking for an exceptional grocery shopping experience."

The local community has enthusiastically embraced the refurbished store. As part of the reopening, LA Foods Group donated £1,000 to the local The Bridge Primary School.

Tabrez concludes: "The feedback from our customers has been incredibly positive. They appreciate the modernised facilities and the enhanced shopping environment we now offer. We are committed to continuing to serve our community with high-quality products and superior service."
